Like the rest of the world, our town is grappling with the new reality of the COVID-19 coronavirus. During this unprecedented time, we want to check in on our neighbors and offer informational resources in a safe way while adhering to necessary social distancing guidelines.
In an effort led by Avon Town Councilmen Dan Polhamus and Anthony Weber, Avon Democrats are calling Avon senior citizens to check in on their welfare, access needs by phone, and provide information and resources. If you or anyone you know has immediate needs, please contact Al Rosenberg, Avon’s Director of Human Services, at (860) 409-4346, firstname.lastname@example.org.
VOLUNTEERS NEEDED: If you’d like to volunteer to join us in making outreach calls to our local seniors, please email us.
We are also hosting a live, regularly-updated document (accessible by clicking here or on the button at left) of Avon area resources that includes emergency contacts, links to health resources and information, phone numbers, and web links on essential services that are available in Avon.
As this is a quickly-evolving situation, this information may be subject to change, so we appreciate your patience and understanding. Thank you, and please be safe.
An Update on Avon Social Services & Senior Center:
